From 8 to October 11, 2008, Exponor fairground of Portugal, will hold the 15th edition of FIMAP / FERRÁLIA International Fair for woodworking machines, and the 10th day of the Hall of accessories and auxiliary equipment for the Industry Wood.

During the four-day fair, Exponor bring together the biggest exhibitors from the timber industry and show the changes and innovations in the sector over the past year, likewise enable attendees learn about new challenges and opportunities that lie at the very fabric business in this area at the international level.

As for Portuguese exports in the sector, 80% are intended for the European Union, especially Spain, France and Germany, according to figures from the ASP (business associations of Portugal).

According ICEX, Portugal is located in the post number one rankings of countries to whom Spain exported raw materials and intermediate products semifacturadas, ahead of France, Italy and United Kingdom.

In the last edition, FIMAP / FERRÁLIA received close to 17 thousand visitors and was attended by about 500 exhibitors, consolidating as one of the most important showcases of the sector in the Iberian peninsula.It is of note that Portugal is a leading producer of bark and products derived from the bark, bark naturally being the main product exported.
