Madrid, July 18, 2008.-- The Spanish Federation of Employers and Industrialists Furniture (FEDERMUEBLE) will be present at the 45th edition of the International Furniture Fair of Valencia (FIM), to be held from 23 to 27 September in the compound of the Feria de Valencia.In this edition of the FIM, FEDERMUEBLE make a strong commitment to innovation and design as a strategic axes for furniture companies over the current situation facing the industry.

Currently, the furniture sector suffers a time of economic difficulty and faces major challenges as competition from third countries with low costs, changes in consumer behaviour or the concentration of distribution.Given this context FEDERMUEBLE, in collaboration with the Spanish Council for the Promotion of Wood, has raised how to provide innovative solutions to the market focused on the customer, product and distribution.The design allows manufacturers of furniture products get more innovative and efficient and is becoming one of the characteristic features of the new model production and consumption.

For all these reasons, FEDERMUEBLE has developed projects such as Master, which drives the design as a key tool for innovation and competitiveness of companies in the sector of classic furniture; iMode (to innovate Furniture Design Oriented), who gamble on young designers ; D'Urban, whose aim is to improve the current supply of playgrounds and equipment for the elderly and the programme of alliances with distributors.

Today, in the wood sector and the Spanish cabinet there is a real technical revolution and aesthetics with the emergence of new products, materials, processes and applications.But to be competitive we must be innovative, for this reason, in addition to the design, FEDERMUEBLE driving innovation through the Plan for Modernization of furniture.

FEDERMUEBLE is the statewide organization that brings together 18 regional associations of industry and subsectoral Spanish furniture, which is 20.
