The objectives of the programme are as follows:
promote business competitiveness and, in particular small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
promote innovation, including eco-innovation.
accelerate the development of an information society competitive, innovative and inclusive.
promote energy efficiency and sources of new and renewable energy in all sectors, including transportation.

Deadline: this program will enter into force on January 1, 2007 and will run until December 31, 2013.Third countries can participate in the program when agreements so permit.

Beneficiaries: SMEs and / or public authorities, depending on the program. The program will be open to participation by the countries of Member States, the EFTA countries that are members of the EEA, candidate countries and Western Balkan countries.
Once the entry into force of the IPC and as the volume of information the files under three programs are inserted at the base. It was also inserted the files of the programs funded by the EIF.212.6 million euros, of which 2,631 million euros will go to the Programme for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, (up 520 million to promote eco-innovation), 801.6 million euros will go to the Policy Support Programme to ICT and 780 million euros will go to the Intelligent Energy Programme.
