The Spanish government approved new measures to boost exports

These measures will be incorporated into English for the Stimulus Plan for Economy and Employment

The Council of Ministers held on 23 January 2009, has approved a new package of measures to boost exports which were incorporated into Spanish for the Stimulus Plan for Economy and Employment.

In addition, SMEs are also the main benefit of a new line in the Plan of Support for Internationalization, allocated 25 million euros, with the aim to financially support investment projects of companies that promote the internationalization and improved competitiveness.

Among the measures of a financial nature, will be reformed before the end of January the Convention Reciprocal Interest Adjustment (CARI), and more flexible credit insurance for export by the State and, finally, SMEs will be Two new lines of credit, on the one hand, the SME-FAD line, equipped with 40 million euros to finance the projects of exporting our SMEs in the host countries of FAD on favorable terms and, second, the line ECESB-SME, which will allow SMEs access to insurance of export credit at low cost.

With this new package, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism aims to strengthen the system of official financial support for internationalization, better understanding of the businesses on the instruments of export support that the Administration makes its service and improve the deficit of training in many international companies.

Finally, with regard to financial measures, the new African Export Plan for Infrastructure, worth 100 million euros, will promote the internationalization of our export sector infrastructure in sub-Saharan Africa.

The measures consist of information in the creation of the Unified Service Center of Trade (CAUCE), to advise on a personalized companies with programs and tools for the promotion and support for internationalization, and the launching of the Center for Investor Assistance / Exporter (CAI), which will support companies that encounter difficulties in their bids or investments in third countries.

It also will start in April Plan tender, which will contribute to better use, by the Spanish companies in the business opportunities generated by the multilateral financial institutions.Another measure to be undertaken will be the gateway to information on trade barriers, which will improve access for our companies to the markets where there are barriers to trade.And finally, new forums will be organized with Sovereign Funds to facilitate the attraction of foreign capital.

For the training for enterprises, especially SMEs, in terms of internationalization, in the coming months will be launched in the Training Plan for the Internationalization of SMEs, which will comprise a series of training courses and seminars where internationalized companies will share their experience with other exports that have not gone abroad.

These measures constitute a fundamental and necessary efforts to achieve the most comprehensive and ambitious strategy of creating jobs and stimulating growth.
