THE CAM AND FEDERMUEBLE CONFEMADERA partnership to increase R & D + i + to IN THE FIELD OF WOOD AND FURNITURE

The Spanish Confederation of Woodworking, CONFEMADERA, the Spanish Federation of Employers and Industrialists of Furniture, FEDERMUEBLE and Mediterranean Fund, CAM, have signed cooperation agreements to promote industrial competitiveness in this sector through projects Contract, D 'Urban and IMOD.

Caja Mediterráneo (CAM), the Spanish Confederation of Woodworking Industries (CONFEMADERA) and the Spanish Federation of Employers and Industrialists of Furniture (FEDERMUEBLE) have signed cooperation agreements in order to promote R & D + i + a on field of woodworking and furniture projects through Contract, D'Urban and IMOD.

Under the agreements, Mediterranean Fund supports these initiatives that seek to strengthen competitiveness of Spanish industry of wood and furniture.

Contract Projects, D'Urban and IMOD are framed within the program Innoempresa and subsidized by the Directorate General of SME Policy and FEDER funds.Confemadera, Caja Mediterráneo FEDERMUEBLE and well put together show that they shared objectives, as is supporting the wood industry and furniture from competition from emerging economies through research, development, innovation and actual application to the company.

Contract Project, developed by Confemadera was put into effect because companies in the wood sector and furniture business need new ways to increase their competitiveness and fighting in a market increasingly globalized as today.Its aim is to reflect and bring new concepts, ideas and products for architects, decorators and designers of the first level, enabling the industry to submit innovative proposals for the contract market and that will provide the furniture business support tools that enable them to position well placed in the channel of the contract.

The urban infrastructure sector is a dynamic sector in the design, materials and processes require permanent change and innovation.

D'Urban Project, developed by FEDERMUEBLE and this year celebrates its second edition, has been launched with the objective of responding to needs identified in children and the elderly in the cities, through design and development innovative street furniture products.Today is no longer enough just to provide a good children's game, or a bank, but requires the design, installation, damper soil protection and management of security maintenance.

The IMOD project, developed by FEDERMUEBLE and this year celebrates its sixth edition (formerly under the name Domus Mediterranea), facilitates the connection between trend and practical development, including design and production, resulting in pieces of furniture and items decoration adapted to new lifestyles.
The main objective of this project lies in consolidating the process of integration of product design in small and medium enterprises in the furniture sector, promoting, using management techniques assisted the introduction of innovative systems that are part of the business strategy developed by each.

During the past seven years, MAC has maintained a close relationship with the sector of wood and furniture, and has made significant contributions to environmental development of the sector.
